Stingray found dead with a BOOK in its stomach

By July 3, 2019Culture, News

A stingray was found dead with a stomach full of man-made products including a book and a camera.

People all over the world are realising that recycling and composting our waste are not enough to protect wildlife. Everything we use and discard has to end up somewhere… and that somewhere is usually the ocean. The recent awareness and battle against single-use plastics and non-recyclable materials is in full force but is it enough?

What we assume is one person’s discarded belongings has ended up inside marine life, as discovered by activists Interseccionalida. The photos were shared by them on Insta, sparking outrage among other animal lovers and wildlife advocates. Along with a book printed in Mandarin, inside the wretched animal was a digital camera, a packet of cigarettes, and a glass bottle.

As readers we have a duty to educate ourselves and try harder to do better- check out some recommendations below that should help us begin our journey to protect life on earth.
