American English v British English

By February 1, 2017Video

America and the United Kingdom are two countries separated by the same language. American English v British English is and has been a bone of contention for decades and is often a source of humour for each side of the divide when a member of the opposite nation says something that just does not translate properly.

It’s not just words though, it’s whole sentence structures and in this video a non native English language speaker discusses the differences in how America and Britain use English. It’s fascinating just how our language has evolved to become so different despite its origins being exactly the same.
